▌Persimmon
Autumn, the season of hearty appetites, is almost here!
I'd like to tell you about some recommended autumn foods and some foods that you often see on walks that dogs might try to eat 🍁
This time, I will introduce persimmons, which are in season from autumn to winter, and which you'll want to eat as the weather gets colder!
▶︎ Persimmon Nutrients
- Vitamin C
- β-carotene
β-carotene is converted into vitamin A. Vitamin A is said to be good for maintaining skin and eye health!
▶︎ Precautions for feeding persimmons
▌If you're giving persimmons, give sweet ones!
Dogs don't perceive bitterness as strongly as humans. Therefore, they might eat astringent persimmons, but since astringent persimmons contain more tannin, which is the bitter component, than sweet persimmons, it's best not to give them astringent persimmons.
Be careful as too much tannin can sometimes lead to constipation!
Also, just like with humans, they are difficult to digest, so remove the skin and seeds.
If your dog shows interest in persimmons, first check if they are sweet persimmons! Let's enjoy the taste of autumn with your dog 🐶
