They might curl up, or sleep on their back like a human. Actually, different sleeping positions can indicate different states of your dog! So, this time we're talking about dog sleeping positions!
【1】Curled Up
This is a common sleeping position when it's cold, to prevent body heat loss. My own dog often sleeps like this in winter!
When your dog is curled up, make sure to check the room temperature!
*It's also said to be a sleeping position when they are feeling tense.
【2】 On Their Back
This is the "belly up" position. Dogs sleeping belly up are very relaxed 😴 When dogs show their belly, it means they feel safe and have no hostility.
【3】 In a Prone Position
This is a posture they adopt when they want to get up quickly. This position is often seen during light sleep! They often sleep in a prone position when they are wary of their surroundings, so they can react quickly if anything happens.
Also, if they are sleeping on a cold surface, it can be the opposite of curling up; they might be trying to release body heat when they are hot.
